If IPL had a parent teacher meeting... this is how it could go

The News Minute | April 8, 2015 | 02:10 pm IST A recent video by comedy group Enna Da Rascalas attempts to bring together “the two greatest obsessions in the country - Cricket and Coming First in Class.” Titled “If IPL had a parent teacher meeting”- where IPL is the principal, parents are the team owners and their children the teams- the video is a comical take on the Indian Premier League and our fixation with winning. “The IPL is in its eight season now and each of these seasons had some stories or incidents which were forgotten over time. We wanted to highlight that in a subtle yet funny way,” says Mathivanan Rajendran, one of the members of EDR. Calling the PTA meeting “a harmless and cute format”, Mathivanan says they completed the video, right from the inception of the idea to post production, in five days flat. “The owners of the teams are mostly in the news than the players. That is another aspect of our video,” says Mathivanan adding that they however didn’t want to make it brash. The video is also an experiment of sorts for EDR because of the longer format that they decided to make the video in. If IPL had a parent teacher meeting, it could perhaps go like this Video of 7rd4uSeVFFs
