DM from the PM? Twitter reacts to Modi government anniversary messages

Written by : TNM

It has been a year of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government’s coming into power. The fact couldn’t have been lost on most people who go through the newspaper every morning with a front-page advertisement by the government featuring in most dailies. If the internet is your preferred mode of lapping up information though, the Prime Minister had a direct message (DM) for you on Twitter. A DM was sent out to each of his followers on the micro-blogging website who responded to this tweet from the PM’s handle.Share your thoughts using #SaalEkShuruaatAnek & get a personal message from me! Looking forward to hearing from you. — Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) May 26, 2015Each follower was sent a message in a language corresponding to the location of the person. Sections of the poliarised Twitter universe though got the chance to have a bit of fun at the anniversary celebrating-PM’s DM: Why should he be the only one? pic.twitter.com/Qdno3Y7LNh— Sapan Verma (@sapanv) May 26, 2015I think the full form of DM is Direct Modi.— Sahil Shah (@SahilBulla) May 26, 2015Wonder if Narendra Modi sent a direct message to Manohar Parrikar on Twitter. If he did, it's a case of the PM DM-ing his DM. #DMception— Nigel Britto (@NigelBritto) May 26, 2015Its direct message from Narendra Modi that to know the differences #Now and #Then in Twitter— Ajay Reddy Sabbella (@ajayreddy365) May 26, 2015India's PM Narendra Modi's communications team is so good that they can send a direct message to me via Twitter. pic.twitter.com/MTh5ZieQW0— Jason Leong (@jasonleong) May 26, 2015Radio, Twitter DM, email.... I'm expecting next year's PM report to be whispered intimately into my ear while I try to sleep at night.— Aditi Mittal (@awryaditi) May 26, 2015
