Written by : TNM

Remember the epic battle scene in S.S Rajamouli’s Baahubali, which left audiences in awe for nearly 20 minutes? According to trustworthy sources, audiences can expect a similar experience from Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Gauthamiputra Satakarni, a period drama about an unsung Satavahana ruler.

Having already shot two battle scenes in Morocco and Hyderabad respectively, the makers will film the third and final battle scene in Georgia from today. In this particular schedule, over 100 junior artists have been hired to play soldiers, along with 300 horses and 20 chariots. Reportedly, nearly Rs 3 crore has already been spent on the war sequences so far, and it’s tipped to be the most expensive film in Balakrishna’s career.

Directed by National award-winning filmmaker Krish, the film is being made on a lavish budget. It stars Shriya Saran, Hema Malini and Kabir Bedi in important roles. After completing the latest schedule, the team will shoot the regular portion.
