Pocket-sized drones are finally here!

The News Minute | November 28, 2014 | 3:15 pm ISTTwo new pocket-sized drones have made their debut on the crowd-funding website Kickstarter.Anura - which shrinks to a phone-sized package with retractable wings - and the Zano - an intelligent and autonomous drone - are now seeking funds for mass production.Anura is the size of an average iphone, but a little thicker. It has four retractable wings which can be tucked into the package and then carried around without a box. With a flight time of about 10 minutes, it connects to the controller through Wi-Fi.The drone also streams video and images back to the smartphone to capture and stream live video. On the other side, Zano is slightly smaller and looks more like a conventional drone. It claims a slightly longer flight time of 10-15 minutes though it does need a case to carry around because of the exposed propellers. Both the drones have built-in cameras to shoot still images and high-definition video. The drones can be controlled via apps for android and iOS mobile devices, the information available on Kickstarter read.
