Larry Stogner quit his job on air - tearfully informing his viewers, that he has been diagnosed with ALS.Stogner has been working with the North Carolina station of the ABC 11 news since 1976. In the video, Stogner reveals that his disease has no cure. He painfully reveals that off late his voice has also been affected by the disease. Ironically, Larry was one among the many participates of the ALS ice bucket challenge last year. The anchor says in the video - that was telecast live on Friday, that he had no clue that he could be affected with the disease, at the time."Little did I know, it was about to change my life. There is no cure. My career in broadcast journalism is coming to an end."Stogner informed his viewers that he will be vacationing with his wife Bobbi and will return on air for one last time on February 6 for a "more personal" goodbye.Stogner’s colleagues expressed full solidarity with him.Reports say that the average life expectancy for an ALS patient is two to five years.  TweetFollow @thenewsminute
