Earth to witness meteor shower today, around 15 meteors per hour expected

The News Minute | November 17, 2014 | 7:15 pm ISTStar gazers are in for a treat as the world is expected to witness a meteor shower during the late hours of November 17 and the early hours of November 18.The Lenoid shower which peaks during this time every year will witness around 15 bright and colorful meteors per hour.According to a report on NASA’s official website, viewers on Earth may experience a Leonid storm every 33 years or so, which peak with hundreds to thousands of meteors per hour depending on the location of the viewer.The Slooh Space Camera will also live stream the event as it happens so people can watch it from the comfort of their own homes.You can find the live stream of the event which starts at 8 pm EST here.
