It is not as if only the major players in the smartphone industry bring out some revolutionary features on their flagships. There are other smartphone makers, particularly from China who attempt such changes that appeal to a large base of customers. Some of the features on the new flagships from Meizu, the Meizu Pro 7 and the Meizu Pro 7 Plus are indeed interesting to report.

The Meizu Pro 7 has a 5.2-inch full HD display while the Meizu Pro 7 Plus comes with a 5.7-inch QHD display; both use the AMOLED display technology.

The processors are also different: the higher end Meizu Pro 7 Plus comes with a MediaTek Helio X30 processor which is a contemporary component, whereas the Meizu Pro 7 has been fitted with an older MediaTek Helio P25 processor.

The RAM & storage combinations will also vary like this: The Meizu Pro 7 Plus will have 6GB RAM and 2 variants of 64GB & 128GB in terms of internal storage. The Meizu Pro 7 will sport 4GB RAM and the internal storage combination will remain the same for both the phones.

The battery will be of 3500mAh for the Plus variant and 3000mAh for the Meizu Pro 7. The proprietary mCharge facility is available with both the phones.

The latest Android Nougat version 7 with Meizu’s Flyme OS riding on it run both the phones. The camera setup has also been kept identical with a dual 12MP camera arrangement in the rear and the front selfie camera being a 16MP sensor.

The Meizu smartphones have also been fitted with an exclusive audio chip to ensure better delivery of sounds.

Now to the main element of the secondary display in the rear panel. The 1.9-inch rectangular display in one side of the back panel and it also uses the AMOLED display technology which sounds great since many other phone makers only tried the E-ink display for the secondary display.

This display can be used for reading notifications and can show the time, weather reports and other content. The best part is this display can be used to take selfies using the rear dual camera setup.

As for the prices of the Meizu Pro 7 and the Meizu Pro 7 Plus phones, the indicated prices for the Chinese market are $430 and $530 respectively. When converted, these would be roughly Rs 27, 500 and Rs 34, 000 respectively.

The 128GB variants will be price a little higher than this. The release date fixed for China is August 5. Meizu phones are already being sold in India and it can be hoped that the company will launch these two latest phones also here soon.
