Just a month before the official unveiling of Samsung’s next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S9, there are rumors about the S-Pen that will be part of this device and how the South Korean giant is planning to incorporate drastic changes to the main functionality of S-Pen. These rumors suggest that the S-Pen could be Bluetooth enabled and may even be designed to act as a remote for controlling the music playback on the phone.  

It has to be emphasized here that there is no official word from Samsung that such changes could be incorporated; however, the company’s teaser on the Samsung Galaxy S9 tries to give a lot of prominence to the S-Pen and one should not be surprised if indeed the rumors have got it right.

One of the rumors even claims the S-Pen could be given some game play features but that might appear to be a little far-fetched. Another theory that the S-Pen could also double as a Bluetooth speaker is also being discounted at this stage since that would mean including a battery inside it and however tiny the battery can be, it will leave the S-Pen much thicker than its present size and it might not be received well by the users of the smartphone.

One may have to hold the horses and wait for the official version of what all the S-Pen can accomplish and one month is not a very long period to do so.

Speaking of the Galaxy S9 smartphone in itself, rumours suggest that the smartphone may include a powerful 4000mAh battery and a faster charging facility. A render of the Galaxy Note 9’s case also indicates that Samsung has moved the fingerprint sensor to the rear panel, below the cameras.

The display is likely to be 6.4-inches in size and the processor will either be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC in the evolved markets and the Exynos 9810 chipset and backed by 8GB RAM. The internal storage is being predicted to be 512GB.
