Looks like Kerala’s film industry is also dancing to the tune of technology. The team behind Mammootty’s latest flick “Varsham” has been different in their approach of marketing their film and the first song of the movie was released through Whatsapp.

The audio release of the movie also gained much attention when it was live streamed through the actor’s official site – www.mammootty.com.

Varsham, a film by veteran scriptwriter Ranjith Sankar has many other specialities to add to its credit. The team also avoided the use of any kind of plastic even during its audio release. The song “Chithrathile kootu thedi” was released on Whatsapp.

Mammootty himself had put up a poster on his Facebook page announcing that ten lucky people who send their mobile numbers will be chosen to directly receive the song from the actor’s number! The song release on WhatsApp happened around 2:00 PM on Friday.

The movie features Mammootty, Asha Sarath and Mamta Mohandas. It is set to release in November.
