A Chandigarh court has issued a legal notice to Bollywood actor Aamir Khan seeking his response on a petition which alleges that he promoted homosexuality on Satyamev Jayate, a show which he hosts. The court on Friday asked the actor to submit his reply by December 19, states a report by PTI. 

The petition has been filed by advocate Mandeep Kaur who alleged that 'Aamir Khan's conduct on his show Satyamev Jayate was a violation of the Supreme Court order on homosexuality', states the report. 

The October 19 episode of Satyamev Jayate discussed the rights of the LGBT community and following the show the makers urged people to dial a number and pledge their support to the show's cause. The makers through the support of people want an amendment to Section 377 to end discrimination and violence against the LGBT community.  

Live Mint on October 22 reported that, 'According to data made available from the Satyamev Jayate team, already 1.05 million calls have been registered, with more pouring in each day'.

Mandeep Kaur alleged that Aamir Khan had promoted a criminal offence on his show, adds PTI.
