A case was filed against Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in Maharashtra for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of the Muslim community, a police official said here Friday.

He was booked on a complaint by Vidarbha unit chief of All Indian Qaumi Tanzeem Mohammed A. Ali for deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.

In his complaint Wednesday, Ali said Salman Khan's NGO 'Being Human' had organised a fashion show in Mumbai sometime ago in which a model walked the ramp with the word 'Allah' written on her dress in Arabic.

"We have received a complaint against the actor and booked him... Further investigations are underway," a police official said.

Ali also submitted video clips of the fashion show to substantiate his claim.
