Vishal Bharadwaj’s movie Haider is out. According to reviews, the movie is doing extremely well, however a campaign demanding boycott of the film has slowly picked up pace since Thursday on Twitter.

Trending under the hashtag #boycotthaider, a section of Indians took to twitter showing their concern against the alleged anti-Indian and anti-Army portrayal in the movie Haider, starring Shahid Kapoor released in cinema theatres on Tuesday.

However, while opinions were made that boycotting the movie was a better alternative to banning the movie, others urged people to watch the movie before commenting on the depiction of Kashmiris and the Indian army in the movie.

There were opposing views as well

On the other hand, #Haidertruecinema also started trending, with people lauding the movie and the movie makers for the 'true depiction' of Kashmir as shown in the movie.
