Written by : TNM

The News Minute | October 31, 2014 | 6:35 pm ISTThe YSR Congress announced today that the Party will observe November 1 as the AP formation day, protesting against the TDP government’s decision to shift the date to June 2. Senior party leader Dr MV Mysoora Reddy said that “There is no logic as to why the State Formation Day should be shifted. Telangana was born on June 2 and not Andhra Pradesh. Being a strong votary for an integrated state, YSR Congress feels that November 1 should be observed as the State Formation Day,” He also referred to the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh which still observe November 1st as the state formation day after the states of Uttarkhand, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh split from them respectively. The party declared that they would observe November 1st as AP’s state formation day “to safeguard the interests and sentiments of the people of Andhra Pradesh”
