Tension prevails after TDP leader allegedly assaults cop in Andhra

In an incident that sparked minor tension on Monday, TDP leaders allegedly attacked the police after a heated argument.

Deccan Chronicle reported:

According to the police, SI Rajendra Prasad was supervising the cops on traffic control duty at Agiripalli Centre and he questioned rowdy-sheeters, Paleti Sravan Kumar and Rompicherla Ramu as they were passing by.

A verbal spat soon followed and Sravan Kumar called up his brother and local TDP leader Maheswara Rao, who reached the place along with his followers, and tried to attack the SI.  

The police registered a case and are conducted an enquiry even as other political parties staged a protest to arrest the TDP workers allegedly involved in the assault.
