In these areas, hospitals get 15,000-20,000 patients a day.The Government General Hospital has 1,500 hospitals but caters to 5,000 outpatients a day, and has no super-specialty services, forcing people to seek treatment in private hospitals at a huge financial cost. The Deccan Chronicle report says: “GGH was started as district headquarters hospital in 1848 on the Grand Trunk Road. The GGH doctors used to refer patients to NIMS, Osmania, Gandhi and Nilofer hospitals but that has changed after state bifurcation.”
