Engineer from Andhra Pradesh abducted in Assam

The News Minute| June 22, 2014| 7.10 pm ISTAn engineer hailing from Andhra Pradesh Nagamalleswara Rao has been kidnapped in Assam. A native of Prakasam district, Rao is employed with a pvt firm in Assam. Bodo militants have allegedly kidnapped him for ransom. Company officials have told the family that last Tuesday night five to six militants entered the stone crushing unit in Kalachand where Rao was posted as manager at. The incident happened 60km from Haflong, the head quarters. of Dima Hasao district.The family says a ransom of 6 crore has been demanded, though there is no confirmation on this. A newly floated militant outfit, Dima Hasao National Army (DHNA) is believed to be behind the abduction.
