Dowry harassment case against actor Rambha and relative

The News Minute | July 23, 2014 | 11.12 am ISTHyderabad police have registered a case of harassment for dowry against former actor Rambha and her family after the actor’s sister-in-law filed a complaint with a local court.The complainant Pallavi is married to Rambha’s brother Srinivasa Rao. She has alleged that her husband and his relatives were demanding more dowry from her and had subjected her to harassment for the last one year.According to a report in The Times of India, Pallavi had married Rao in 1999 and the couple have two children. Rao had allegedly been demanding money from Pallavi to invest in a business.Banjara Hills police have registered a case against Rambha, Srinivas Rao and their parents Venkateshwar Rao and Usha Rani under Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 5 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
