After a letter allegedly from H Raja accusing the BJP state leadership of extortion surfaced on social media, the Tamil Nadu BJP convenor dismissed it as fake and an attempt to damage his reputation.
“Fake news is being spread on social media by anti-social elements to tarnish my name. Legal action will be taken against the person who prepared and spread this fake information, as well as those who continue to share it,” Raja stated on Thursday, January 16.
The letter in question purportedly accused the Tamil Nadu BJP leadership of engaging in extortion from prominent business groups and individuals. It claimed credible sources had shared allegations during Raja’s interactions with the public and party cadres.
The alleged fake letter said, “I must bring to your attention certain concerning observations shared by credible sources during my interactions with the public and cadres. Allegations suggest that the current Tamil Nadu State Leadership is involved in extorting money from business entities such as the KG Group, Naidu community leaders, and individuals like Shri SV Balasubramaniam of Bannari Group, as well as institutions like Kumaraguru Colleges.”
“Intermediaries such as Shri Ravi Sam and Shri KG Anush are reportedly involved, with funds allegedly misused for personal international travel and investments in Sree Annamalaiyar Chambers, Dindigul, where family members of the leadership are said to be directly involved.” The letter asked the party president JP Nadda to conduct an investigation into the allegations.
The letter was circulated by many, pointing out the internal feud between BJP state president Annamalai and H Raja.
Annamalai did not issue any statement on this controversy.
