Tamil Nadu: Class 9 student dies after fight with classmate over bus seat

A 14-year-old boy in Tamil Nadu died on Tuesday, February 11, after a fight with his classmate over bus seating arrangement led to an altercation between them. The incident took place in the evening on Monday, February 10 after school hours.

The deceased was identified as Kandaguru, a Class 9 student of Wisdom Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Edappadi near Salem. The scuffle escalated when Kandaguru allegedly made a derogatory remark about the classmate’s mother. In response, the boy reportedly pushed Kandaguru, causing him to fall and hit his head.

Kandaguru was first taken to a private hospital in Edappadi for treatment and later shifted to a hospital in Salem, where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning. 

Following the incident, a police complaint was filed and an investigation was underway. Security has also been deployed at the school to prevent any untoward incidents, a police official told TNM.
