He will be in judicial custody till April 25.
The Christian preacher has been accused of sexually assaulting two minor girls.
A case was registered against him on March 21 by the Coimbatore Central All Women’s Police Station (AWPS). He was booked under Sections 9(I)(m) (aggravated sexual assault) and 10 (punishment for aggravated sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
The accused reportedly assaulted two minors aged 17 and 14 at his residence in GN Mills area, Coimbatore. The 17-year-old survivor was an orphan who was adopted by the pastor’s father-in-law while the 14-year-old girl was their neighbour. The two girls were at John’s house for a party last year when he harassed and allegedly assaulted them. He allegedly threatened to kill them if they disclosed the incident to anyone.
The incident came to light after the 14-year-old survivor complained to the parents, who in turn approached the Coimbatore Central AWPS in March 2025. A special team was formed by the Coimbatore police to nab the Pastor.
