The News Minute| November 11, 2014| 08.30 am ISTMalaysia currently holds 68 Indians as prisoners on chargers of possession and trafficking of dangerous drugs to the country.Names of these 68 Indian prisoners were released by the high commission of Indian in Kaula Lampur in an RTI reply, reported Times of India.Majority of them were from Tamil Nadu having left the country from the Chennai International airport. .In the wake of the recent spotlight on the fate of the five fishermen in Sri Lanka sentenced to death, the number of Indians languishing in foreign jails is a large concern.Atleast 5986 Indian nationals are currently in foreign jails, of which 71 have completed their sentences and are waiting to be sent home, said a written reply by VK Singh in July said the report.
