Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa turns 68 on February 24, and it's not just Tamil Nadu that will be celebrating. The AIADMK announced that the grand celebrations will go on for five days in as many as eight states.
The Deccan Chronicle reports that while rallies and programmes like ‘Annadhanam’ would mark the occasion, this time the party plans on going all out geographically.
Outside Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK enjoys a mild presence in the Southern states and even contests local body elections in Kerala and Karnataka. The party’s propaganda secretary Thambidurai said in a statement that Amma’s 68th birthday celebrations will be held not only in neighbouring Puducherry, but also in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, the national capital territory of Delhi, and Andamans, among other states.
