Kerala youth held for murder of 6-year-old boy who resisted sexual assault

In a shocking incident, a six-year-old boy was murdered allegedly by his neighbor after the child tried to resist sexual assault. The incident occurred in Mala in the Thrissur district of Kerala on Thursday, April 10. The boy’s body was found in a pond in a paddy field near his house. The accused, identified as 20-year-old Jojo, was arrested by the police, and according to the authorities, has confessed to the crime. 

Reports said the child went to play with friends in the evening and was later found missing. When the residents in the area launched a search operation,Jojo also participated. Later, the family filed a missing complaint with the police..

Some residents who had seen Jojo with the boy in the paddy field informed the police, who later found CCTV footage that shows him walking with the boy. Initially, Jojo claimed he didn't know anything, but later confessed to the crime.

The mortal remains of the child will be handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination at the Government Medical College Hospital in Thrissur.
