
Suchana Seth, the Bengaluru-based tech CEO who was arrested last year on charges of murdering her four-year-old son in a Goa hotel, has now been booked for allegedly assaulting a woman constable inside the Colvale Central Jail.
According to the Colvale police, the incident occurred on Monday, April 7, at the women’s block office of the prison. Suchana, currently lodged as an undertrial inmate, allegedly took the inward register of the women’s prisoner block without permission. When questioned, she allegedly verbally abused the constable and physically attacked her.
The reports quoting the FIR state that Suchana kicked and pushed the constable, pulled her hair, and caused bodily injuries. She has been booked under Sections 121(1) (voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from duty) and 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Suchana was arrested in January 2024 after the body of her four-year-old son was found in a suitcase. She had checked into Hotel Sol Banyan Grande in North Goa’s Candolim on January 6 and was scheduled to stay until January 10. She abruptly checked out on the night of January 7, citing “urgent work” in Bengaluru.
She was arrested the following day from Karnataka’s Chitradurga district, allegedly while trying to flee with her son’s body concealed in a travel bag. A chargesheet filed by Goa Police states that the child died from “shock and respiratory asphyxia” due to strangulation.
