Jayasurya’s upcoming film will be a fantasy thriller, which is based on the life of the legendary priest Kadamattathu Kathanar who lived in Kadamottom. The priest was believed to have possessed some supernatural powers which helped him perform miracles. The story of Kadamattathu Kathanar is all set to be made into a film with Jayasurya roped in to play the role of the priest.

In an interview to the Times of India, Jayasurya spoke about the project thus: “The movie will be directed by Rojin Thomas and the team includes Monkey Pen's composer Rahul Subrahmaniam, cinematographer Neil D'Cunha and Vijay Babu.” R Ramanand has scripted the film.

Producer Vijay Babu said, “It is going to be in 3D and 2D and will be a technically demanding movie. It is targeted both at kids as well as adults.” It is confirmed that Vijay Babu and Jayasurya are teaming up for the film on Kadamattathu Kathanar. They are already working together for Sufiyum Sujathayum. Vijay Babu said that the biopic will commence after Sufiyum Sujathayum is wrapped up.

Sufiyum Sujathayum is an intense romantic tale, we hear. The film has Aditi Rao Hydari playing the female lead and she will be seen as Jayasurya’s wife. Wielding the megaphone for this venture is Naranipuzha Shanavas, director of the critically acclaimed film Karie. The film is bankrolled by Vijay Babu under his banner Friday Film House. Vijay Babu said in an earlier interview that Jayasurya will be seen in a different avatar altogether in Sufiyum Sujathayum. The producer added that it is a romantic thriller with dark humour thrown in. Aditi would play a kathak dancer, he said.

It may be noted here that Vijay Babu and Jayasurya have earlier collaborated for Aadu and Aadu 2 both of which both turned out to be popular.
