The trailer of Amutha, an upcoming psychological thriller directed by PS Arjun was released on YouTube by Plumeria Movies on May 19. The film is being produced by Shafeeq of Southern Film Factory.

The trailer begins with a woman reading a book on her bed. While she gets up and walks downstairs, the video again gets back to her reading a book on her bed. This time, upon hearing the sound of the television downstairs, she walks outside to investigate, only to see herself sitting downstairs, watching TV.
Without revealing too much, the trailer gives us a peek into the genre of the film. The trailer is titled ‘She is trapped in time’. The trailer also has a couple of other new faces. Cinematography is by Rajesh Panangat and Arun Gopan has been roped in for music. Jithin John is the editor for the film.
The film stars Sriya Sree, Anees Shaz, Levin Simon Joseph, Ashna Sudheer, Baby Ileanor, Assisi Gibson and a bevy of other debut actors.
According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, the film’s director shared that the title character’s name, Amutha, was inspired from Mani Rathnam’s Kannathil Muthamittal. “I wanted a character name, which is not common yet quite familiar,” he said.
