The Mohanlal starrer Neerali is all set for its worldwide release on June 14 and the makers are currently busy with its post-production. On its progress, we hear that the film’s title song will be mixed at a popular studio in Poland.
Editor Ajoy Varma will be making his directorial debut in the Malayalam film industry with this action thriller that has Mohanlal who will be seen in the role of Sunny George, a gemologist.
Nadiya Moidu will be seen playing his wife in the film. The shooting of Neerali began in January this year and was wrapped up quickly. The film’s star cast also includes Parvatii Nair, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Saikumar, Dileesh Pothan, Nassar, Prakash Raj and Megha Mathew in supporting roles.
Stephen Devassy is composing music for the songs in the film and the background is done by Ronnie Raphael. The cinematography for Neerali is handled by Santosh Thundiyil while the editing is done by director Ajoy Varma and Sajit Unnikrishnan.
It is bankrolled by Santhosh T Kuruvilla, John Thomas and Mibu Jose Nettikadan under the banner Moonshot Entertainments. The other technicians associated with Neerali are stunt choreographer Sunil Rodriguez, makeup artiste Serena Tixeria, costume designer Himanshi Nijhawan and art director Udai Prakash Singh. The film has been shot extensively in various locations in Mumbai and Pune.
Since the film is an action based thriller, it requires a lot of VFX work and one of the most popular VFX companies in India has been working on it. Most reports state that the visual effects in the film will create a record by being the best in Malayalam cinema.
While Neerali is gearing up for release next month, Mohanlal’s yet another prestigious film, Odiyan has also gone into the post production mode and will be out for release later. Besides these two films, the star also has Kayamkulam Kochunni in his kitty in which he plays an extended cameo. The film has Nivin Pauly playing the title role. Mohanlal also has a Ranjith directorial which is currently progressing in UK.
