Image courtesy: Puthiya Thalaimurai TV Opposition party in Tamil Nadu, the DMK has been criticising the recent reinstatement of the ruling Chief Minister and AIADMK chief, J Jayalalithaa for quite a while now.  However, a DMK member in Salem who echoed the sentiments of his party when he criticised the AIADMK learnt that he probably spoke too much too soon and more importantly did so in the wrong place.  During a Salem Corporation Council meeting, when AIADMK members began clapping and cheering the return of their leader Jayalalithaa as Chief Minister, it evoked a reaction from DMK member, Deivalingam who then made a statement criticising their cheering and condemned their celebration. However, what followed was a brutal assault by angered AIADMK members who took on Deivalingam beating him up right from the Council’s office until the main road, chasing him along the road in the process. The Salem Corporation council then slapped a lifetime ban on Deivalingam preventing him from entering the council. Following this, DMK functionaries held a road roko as a sign of protest. Deivalingam has been grievously injured and admitted to the hospital.  Watch the video by Puthiya Thalamurai.
