 1.     Across the State, shops and other private, government establishments remained shut with streets remaining deserted in respect as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s funeral was held in Rameswaram with full state honours. Thousands of people gathered to be a part of this occasion. 2.     According to The Times of India, while residents of the working-class in Chennai get about 50 litres per person from the city's MetroWater supply, a person in a higher-affluent locality can get double that. After a four-hour long operation, before which it attacked a number of people, the cub was released into the Hogenakkal reserve forest.
