Actor and mimicry artist Mano passed away on Monday in Chennai after meeting with a road accident. Best known for his roles on the small screen and his performance on the Tamil dance reality show Maanada Mayilada, the actor and his wife were travelling in their car when the accident took place.

Mano reportedly lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crashed into a median. His wife, who was in the passenger seat, is reportedly critical and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Sri Ramachandra Hospital in Porur. 

According to one report, Mano and his wife Liviya were travelling in their car near Guduvanchery when Mano, who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle. While Mano sustained severe injuries and died on the spot, his wife was rushed to the hospital. The accident happened around 7 pm. The couple has a seven-year-old daughter. 

Murali, a friend of the actor, was quoted by The Hindu as saying that the accident appeared to have occurred on account of the road in the area being dark due to lack of street lights at the time the couple was travelling.

Mano started off as an anchor on Sun TV and went on to take part in the Maanaada Mayilada reality show. He is known for his intense performances with a social messaging. With his mimicry talent being displayed on the dance show, he was selected as a contestant on the Tamil comedy show Kalakapovadhu Yaaru. Receiving wide acclaim for his performances, he soon started touring for stage shows with stand-up artistes. He then landed an offer to anchor the Nagaichuvai Kondattam show on Kalaignar TV.

Mano played one of the three main leads in the 2010 movie Puzhal along with Hemachandran and Murali. Directed by Azhagu, the film also starred Archana.
