Stalin puts his foot down, says no point discussing Alagiri's return

Alagiri was supposed to meet his father and DMK leader M Karunanidhi on Saturday.

Following media reports that former Union Minister and DMK leader MK Alagiri would be reinstated in DMK before Tamil Nadu assembly elections, party treasurer MK Stalin said on Tuesday said that there was no point discussing the same.  

Talking to the media at Koyambedu market during his Namakku Naamey campaign, he said, “There is only 'news' which is spreading. It’s been a long time since he was expelled from the party. So there is no need for discussion on this.”

According to sources, Alagiri was supposed to meet his father and DMK leader M Karunanidhi on Saturday (it was Alagiri's birthday), but the meeting got cancelled later in the day.

Alagiri was expelled from the party on March 25, 2014 for his verbal attacks against few senior DMK leaders and party treasurer MK Stalin.
