Anyone who wishes to have a movie directed by Rosshan Andrrews should approach the Kerala Film Producers’ Association for permission. Producer and secretary of the association G Sureskumar told TNM there has not been a ban on the director as some reports suggested. The decision comes in light of the alleged attack by Rosshan on the family of producer Alwin Antony at the latter’s house in Ernakulam on Saturday.

“This is in context of the complaint given by producer Alwin Antony, that Rosshan has attacked him and his family at their home,” Sureshkumar adds.

Alwin’s complaint said that Rosshan and several men came to his house on Saturday and attacked his family and even a doctor friend who was visiting them at the time. Sureshkumar says there are videos of the attack.

Both Alwin and Rosshan have approached the police with separate cases, each alleging the other of attacking them.

Based on Alwin’s complaint, the incident happened in the wee hours of Saturday night and the men threatened Alwin’s friend who is a doctor as well as the producer’s school going child, on Rosshan’s instructions. Alwin has also reportedly approached the DGP, regarding the case.

Rosshan reportedly denied Alwin’s claims, stating that the producer’s son Allwyn John Antony had worked with him in projects such as Mumbai Police and How old are you and had been indulging in substance abuse. The director added that despite warning him once, Allwyn John continued to take illicit drugs and hence was removed from the crew. Rosshan alleged that Allwyn, as a response to the incident, began a smear campaign against him. The director also claimed that Alwin Antony had attacked him and his friend Nawaz, when the duo questioned them about the smear campaign.

Rosshan too has filed a police complaint stating that Allwyn and his gang had attacked him previously.
