The News Minute| June 12, 2014| 8.30 am IST The Tamil Nadu police is likely to handover an investigation on a terror plot to target US and Israeli consulates in South India to the NIA. The investigation will require trams to travel to Sri Lanka, Maldives and Malaysia. This is one reason why the investigation is likely to be handed over. The Times of India reporting on this says that Malaysia had tipped off the Intelligence Bureau about a conspiracy to attack consulates in Chennai and Bangalore. A Sri Lankan national who was arrested in Tamil Nadu is suspected to be involved in the plot. Since the suspect named others in MAlaysia and Maldives, the investigation will need to be done in those countries.
