The News Minute | March 20, 2015 | 09.03 am ISTThe National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued an inquiry to the Chennai police taking suo motu cognisance of the media reports on the March 12 attack on a Tamil media house’s office. After the attack on Puthiya Thalaimurai, many had protested on the stiff opposition to the channel’s decision to telecast a controversial show on the the relevance of the "Thaali" or the "Mangalsutra", The Times of India reported. After clippings of the programme were shown in promos, the protests started. Days after, tiffin box bombs were thrown at their offce. The NHRC has directed the police commissioner to begin an enquiry and submit a report within six weeks, said the report. Though initially some police officials had questioned why the channel expected security when it had shown a controversial TV shows, later on, ten Hindu Munnani men were arrested.
