The leader who had been sidelined within the party following his support fro Karunandihi;s elder son, wrote in a letter to the DMK president and general secretary, “I am resigning from the primary membership of the DMK which had groomed me from the age of 16.. I have served the party for the past 35 years” reported The New Indian Express.On Saturday, BJP president Amit Shah addressed a meeting in Chennai while a number of notable personaities like music director Gangai Amaran and actor Gayathri Raghuram and office-bearers from the DMK, AIADMK and Congress joined the BJP in the presence of Shah.
