Manju Warrier shared her look in the film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, on her social networking page. She plays the role of Zubaida in this film, directed by Priyadarshan, with Mohanlal in the lead.

As Zubaida, Manju looks impoverished, a red sack hanging on one side, a stick held on another.

The looks of the actors in this magnum opus are being released in regular intervals. Earlier, Mohanlal’s and Siddique’s looks were out and then Bollywood actor Suneil Shetty’s look was also revealed. Both the actors looked every bit a warrior in their get-ups.

Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is based on the true life of Kunjali Marakkar IV. The title ‘Kunjali Marakkar’ was bestowed on naval chiefs during the 16th century and these naval chiefs fought valiantly against the Portuguese army. There were four Kunjali Marakkars during that era, of which the fourth is the most valiant and popular.

Mohanlal will be playing the title role in the film, which also has Suneil Shetty, Manju Warrier, Arjun Sarja, Mukesh and Keerthy Suresh in pivotal roles. Children of Priyadarshan and Mohanlal – Kalyani and Pranav – would also be part of the film.

The film will be produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T Kuruvilla and CJ Roy under their respective banners on a budget costing Rs 100 crore.

Reports are that the shooting of this magnum opus is planned to be completed by March or April this year and its post production will take around six months due to large amount of VFX involved. The Los Angeles-based Anibrain VFX and Creative Studio will be handling the VFX for this magnum opus. Incidentally, Anibrain in association with Framestore had won the Oscar award for Best Visual Effects for the film, Blade Runner 2049.

The shooting of Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is progressing at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Director Priyadarshan has completed shooting scenes involving Pranav and Kalyani recently.

Recently, Manju Warrier has been roped in for Dhanush's next, Asuran, which is directed by Vetrimaaran. The film will mark her Tamil debut.
