MDMK leader and PWF convener Vaiko on Tuesday in Coimbatore said that DMK chief Karunanidhi should have condemned the recent remarks made by Tamil Nadu Congress President EVKS Elangovan against CM Jayalalithaa.

EKVS on Monday evening at a rally in Thiruvarur had reportedly questioned how many times the AIADMK supremo visited the districts to address ‘grievances’ of the common people rather than ‘secretly’ visiting her Kodanadu or Siruthavur residence.

“She doesn't care for people but has an overwhelming love for elephants. No matter what, she sends elephants for rejuvenations camps. She doesn’t care about the people the way she loves elephants. I wonder why she loves elephants the way she does, and the relationship she shares with them. When I think about it, none other than similarities in physical appearance (between elephants and Jayalalithaa) strikes my mind,” said Elangovan at an election rally.

DMK and the Indian National Congress have forged an alliance ahead of the upcoming elections, with the Congress contesting in 41 seats in Tamil Nadu.

Vaiko, who was to file his nomination yesterday, announced that he will not be contesting in the upcoming elections.
