KPCC President VM Sudheeran on Thursday said that V S Achuthanandan would be LDF’s first target, if they come to power.
Taking a dig at LDF’s election slogan, “LDF varum. Elam Sheriyavum” (Everything will be right when LDF comes to power), Sudheeran said that the real meaning of the slogan is slowly becoming clear. He said that the first “right” thing that LDF would do after coming to power, will be to target V S Achuthanandan, according to a Manorama report.
Sudheeran was speaking at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram.
Sudheeran’s comment was in reference to the statement made by CPI (M) Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan, against V S Achuthanandan on Wednesday.
While talking to the press on Wednesday, Pinarayi Vijayan said that the state secretariat resolution, terming VS as an “anti-party activist”, still stands. Read the full report here.
Criticizing Vijayan for his statement, Sudheeran said that the statements made against the nonagenarian leader VS, clearly show the serious inner party conflict in CPI(M).
Further, he questioned the LDF’s ability to unite the people of Kerala, at a time when the party is incapable of even acknowledging and respecting a veteran leader like VS.
Adding to this, he said that the LDF has become synonymous with intolerance and that the BJP and LDF are two sides of the same coin, when it comes to intolerance.
