CPI (M) Politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said that the state secretariat resolution adopted against V S Achuthanandan, terming the nonagenarian leader as an “anti-party activist”, still stands valid.

The resolution against Achuthanandan was adopted during the state secretariat meet that was held in Alappuzha last February.

Pinarayi Vijayan made the statement while responding to a journalist’s question during Meet The Press programme.

Further, when someone posed a counter question asking him about the party’s decision of giving a ticket to Achuthanandan, whom they consider an anti-party activist, Vijayan replied saying that the two matters are non-related and that they have to be treated separately.

According to a report by Reporter, reacting to Pinarayi’s statement, CPI (M) Politburo member M A Baby said that this is not the right time to discuss about the resolution against VS and he also alleged conspiracy behind the timing of such statements made against the leader.

Expressing his unhappiness over the resolution, V S Achuthanandan had boycotted the state secretariat meet last year.
