After the recent decision to introduce wifi service in select MTC buses in the city, Chennaiā€™s Central railway station is providing wifi-service at the station for commuters, said The New Indian Express. A pilot project which is expected to cost around Rs. 60 lakh, it will allow users free 30 minutes Internet access and provision to use other services such as ticket reservation and train enquiries. This pilot project will make use of 40 Wi-FI equipments for this endeavour. The service is to be formally launched on Friday, said the report ReadĀ Tamil to be made compulsory in TN CBSE schools next year
