The News Minute | December 11, 2014 | 05:28 pm IST  The producer of Rajinikanth-starrer Lingaa will need to deposit Rs. 10 crore in order to secure the movie’s release on Friday. Lingaa producer Rockline Venkatesh was directed by the Madurai bench to deposit Rs. 5 crore in cash and the remaining as bank guarantee through the court registry by Friday afternoon. This court order came following a writ petition by a film maker K R Ravi Rathinam when his plea against the movie's release was dismissed. Rathinam who gave the court a sealed envelope containing his movie story said that his 47 year labour in the film industry would go waste if Lingaa was allowed to release, reported PTI. The original claim was that Lingaa was based on "Mullai vanam 999", a 2013 movie.  Producer Venkatesh said that the court order will be abided by and Lingaa will be released as per schedule. The Rajinikanth-starrer is set to hit theatres on December 12.
