On Sunday, a woman police constable was allegedly beaten by a truck driver after an argument at Thousand Lights quarters in Chennai.

Sindhu, (32), works as a police constable at the Madipakkam police station.

On Sunday, she was watching television at her residence when the power went off suddenly. When Sindhu came out to check, she found a truck driver, Raj Mohan, who was fighting with his wife.

Raj Mohan mistakenly disconnected the power of Sindhu’s house after a quarrel with his wife. Though Sindhu protested, Raj Mohan refused to restore the power supply after which, a quarrel broke out and Raj Mohan allegedly attacked Sindhu. Sindhu began shouting and some of her neighbours saw that and immediately took her to Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital.

Sindhu’s husband Sampath Kumar filed a complaint at Thousand Lights police station and Mohan was taken into police custody.
