The shooting of the Rajinikanth starrer Petta is happening somewhere in Chandigarh where the team is currently camping. Recently, a couple of scenes that were shot for the film were leaked from the sets, which has miffed its makers. If reports are to be believed, the producers of Petta have beefed up the security measures on the sets following this leak.

Sources in the know say that only the core team is aware of the shooting schedules and the scenes that are to be shot for the day. Also, only the most required crew are allowed on the sets with a complete ban on mobiles. While strict security measures are in place to avoid any further leakages from the Petta sets, the producers have arranged for police protection as well. Sources say that a special 25-member police team has been deployed for the purpose.

Directed by Karthik Subburaj and starring the Superstar in the lead, Petta will also feature Vijay Sethupathi in a pivotal role. On Rajini’s role in Petta, we hear that he plays a professor and a vigilante. While he will appear as a professor during the day time, he will be seen as a vigilante during the nights to safeguard the educational institution he works at.

Others in the star cast of the film are Simran, Trisha, Malavika Mohanan, Megha Akash, Bobby Simha and Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing important roles. This is the first time that Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi are sharing screen space with Rajinikanth, which has created a lot of expectations for Petta. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the tunes for this gangster action film with Tirru cranking the camera and Vivek Harshan in charge of the editing. This film, which is being bankrolled under the Sun Pictures banner, may hit the marquee either later this year or early next.
