After being denied bail four times in the past, Malayalam actor Dileep has finally secured bail from the Kerala High Court on Tuesday.
Dileep was arrested on July 10 for his alleged involvement in the conspiracy surrounding the abduction and sexual assault of a woman actor in February this year. Dileep is the eleventh accused in the case.
The Kerala High Court has granted conditional bail to the actor, asking him to pay a bond of Rs 1 lakh. The Kerala HC granted bail to the actor at a time when the investigating team is all set to submit the supplementary chargesheet in a few days.
However, since Dileep has secured bail, the police has no time restrictions on them anymore.
According to reports, jail Superintendent of Aluva sub-jail informed Dileep about his bail and the actor said he was thankful.
The High Court has imposed many restrictions on Dileep. The court has asked him not to influence witnesses or destroy evidence in the case. The court has also asked Dileep to surrender his passport and instructed him to appear before the investigating team whenever he is called in for questioning.

Previously, when the Kerala High Court and Angamaly Magistrate court rejected bail multiple times, both the courts observed that Dileep was capable of influencing the witnesses in the case.
Dileep's release also comes at a time when his movie Ramaleela has hit the theatres. There was much debate in the state on whether the movie should be boycotted, but Dileep fan clubs worked hard to create a buzz around the movie.
A few days after news broke out about the abduction and sexual assault of a prominent woman actor in February, the prime accused Pulsar Suni was arrested by the police. However, rumours about Dileep's alleged involvement in the case began to do rounds. Although the actor vehemently denied that he was involved, he was arrested by the police in July.
Dileep had denied that he even knew Pulsar Suni. However, the police found his statements to be contradictory. The police has claimed that call records and other evidences show that the two of them knew each other. The force has further said that the conspiracy dates back to a few years and that the motive is revenge. The woman actor is believed to have been instrumental in Dileep's ex-wife Manju Warrier divorcing him.
