The News Minute | December 17, 2014 | 9.18 am IST A sixth standard girl was raped and murdered in Vellore on Monday while she was returning from school. The 11-year-old’s body, in school uniform, was found near a mango grove. Her hands and legs were tied and had injuries on her head. Liquour bottles and water sachets were also found near the body, Deccan Chronicle reported. The girl parents started searching for the girl when she did not return from school and lodged a complaint in the KV Kuppam police station. The police found the body of the girl and her cycle and schoolbag was also found in the nearby bushes. "He (the assaulter) must have lured her to the mango grove where he was drinking with his associates and sexually assaulted her before murdering her. It is possible that more than one person was involved in this ghastly crime," the police said. Three class ten students of the same school are being questioned by the police.
