A 25-year-old woman working in a private firm was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her office in Hyderabad’s Bowenpally area even as her family alleged that she was killed by her colleague, police said on Friday.

M Samatha, a native of Warangal district in Telangana, was found dead in the firm's office on Thursday night with her body hanging from the ceiling, they said.

However, the parents and relatives of the woman cried foul over the incident, saying it was a case of murder and she was strangulated. They further alleged that her colleague in the office was responsible for the incident.

Bowenpally Police Station Sub-Inspector N Suresh said they have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC in connection with the incident and said they were probing the incident.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, he added.
