A 40-year-old woman allegedly killed her husband on Sunday in Narsingapur village in Telangana's Karimnagar district.

Tirupathamma hit her husband Ravula Sampath by a pestle last night at their residence, Huzurabad Deputy Superintendent of Police M Ravinder Reddy told reporters.

Sampath, a washer-man, was a habitual drinker and he allegedly tried to outrage the modesty of his 16-year-old daughter on several occasions, he said.

He also allegedly harassed Tirupathamma. Enraged over his behaviour, she attacked him when he was in an inebriated state after an altercation. Sampath died on the spot, the officer said.

Following a complaint, a case under relevant sections of IPC was registered and investigations are underway.

However, no arrests have been made so far, police said.
