A financial reward of Rs 10 crore has been thrown open to the 32 newly elected Zila Parishad (ZP) officials, if they perform well. The Telangana Chief minister, K Chandrashekar Rao made the announcement on Tuesday and has also offered a car to each of the ZP chairpersons.

The funds are to be sanctioned through the Chief Ministers 'Pragathi Paddu' funds for the ZP that performs the best. Rao in his interaction with the newly elected chairpersons and vice-chairpersons said that if all the 32 ZPs perform well, then all of them would get a total of Rs 320 crore from the CM’s fund.

“Recently, when I met the fifteenth Finance Commission chairman, I have explained the ZP system in the State. I told the FFC that Telangana gave the minister of state rank to ZP chairpersons and urged the FCC to give funds to ZPs. The FCC chairman responded positively...All power as per the constitution will be devolved to the ZPs," said KCR.

KCR commended the party for winning all the 32 ZPs in the state and called it a historic win by the TRS. "The result in the state was one-sided. The TRS bagged all the 32 ZPs. With this, the responsibility of ZP chairpersons has increased. You have to serve people in better ways,” added the CM, who suggested the chairpersons treat the public visiting their offices with great respect.

"First offer them a seat. Respect them. Listen to them patiently. Then, people will get some relief immediately. Later, think of how to resolve the problems of the people. No investment is needed for good deeds,” said the CM, as per The New Indian Express. Of the 32 ZP chairpersons who got elected, 14 are women, while 10 of the vice-chairpersons who have taken office are also women.
