Subramanian Swamy speaks up against TRS for raking up nativity issue in Telangana

The News Minute | July 21, 2014 | 1:57 PM IST Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy has criticised K Chandrasekhar Rao's Telangana Rashtra Samiti for bringing up the issue of nativity. Swamy said that the state should not forget that Article 256 of the Constitution can be used against it. Swamy added that by raising nativity issues and creating fear among people, the state is intimidating people which should be objected. "Telangana is a part of the Union of India and non-locals have every right to live in the state”, Swamy said. Article 256 states- Every State shall be so exercised as to ensure compliance with the laws made by Parliament and any existing laws which apply in that State, and the executive power of the Union shall extent to the giving of such directions to a State as may appear to the Government of India to be necessary for that purpose.
