The News Minute | December 10, 2014 | 8:20 am ISTThe all-party meeting convened by Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday witnessed various opposition parties showcasing their dissent on the various topics brought up for discussion including the re alignment of the metro rail. The meeting which was held at the secretariat lasted for 5 hours, failed to build consensus on issues like the proposal of the Ganesh idol immersion being switched from Hussain Sagar to Vinayak Sagar at Indira Park, a report in the Times of India adds.A press release issued by the chief minister’s office however, claimed that the meeting was successful and has called for another all-party meeting on December 16 to carry forward the proposals of metro rail re alignment and regularization of encroached vacant land. The Congress, BJP, TDP and the Left parties bluntly denied that they had agreed to any of the proposals in their current form, with the BJP and the TDP demanding that the government call a meeting of city MLA’s and MP’s to discuss the metro issue. The MIM continued to root for the metro issue adding that the proposed realignment in the Old City would save many religious structures and provide better connectivity to the Old City.
